Brondell Swash 1400 vs Bio Bidet BB 2000 | High Level Comparison

If you've narrowed down your bidet search down to the Brondell Swash 1400 and Bio Bidet BB 2000, congratulations - you've short-listed two really good bidet seats.  Both of these seats look great, and will instantly add bidet functionality to your toilet.  Both of these models are higher-end models which use an advanced, tankless (on demand) water heating system.  Other common features they both share include adjustable water pressure, adjustable water temperature and adjustable spray position.  They both have a built-in warm air dryer and heated toilet seat as well.

But there are some differences to note.  From a washing perspective, the Bio Bidet BB 2000 has some differentiating features including a water pulse cleanse which pulsates the water stream, kind of like a strobe light which turns on and off.  The BB 2000 also has a turbo (enema) wash feature which is really helpful for folks with constipation.  But the Brondell Swash 1400 has an  adjustable spray width feature, which the BB 2000 does not have.  Adjusting the spray on the Swash 1400 allows you to choose a softer, wider spray or a more narrow, concentrated spray.

Another key difference - is that the Bio Bidet BB 2000 outputs more water (0.7 liters per minute) than the Brondell Swash 1400 (0.5 liters per minute).  More water output generally translates to a more efficient wash so this is an important difference.  The Brondell Swash 1400 does come with two user presets, however.  This lets you pre-program wash settings (e.g., water pressure, temperature, spray position) for up two different members of your household.  Let's go over a more detailed comparison below.

Brondell Swash 1400

Brondell's latest and third generation model, the Brondell Swash 1400 is a top-of the line bidet seat.  This unit comes equipped with a twin-nozzle system, where one of the nozzles is dedicated for feminine wash and the other nozzle is dedicated for posterior wash.  Water pressure, water temperature and spray position can all be adjusted.  The Brondell Swash 1400 also includes an adjustable spray-width feature, which let's you change the width of the spray.  Maximum water volume is measured at 0.5 liters per minute.  Also included in this bidet seat are two user presets and a lid you can sit on.

Compelling reasons to choose the Brondell Swash 1400:

     - Sitting on the closed lid of the bidet seat is important to you

     - User presets are handy if family members differ in their wash preferences, e.g., water temp

     - You like the adjustable spray width feature

Bio Bidet BB 2000

Bio Bidet's flagship bidet seat, the Bio Bidet BB 2000 comes equipped with some advanced washing features.  This unit works with a single-nozzle system, with three different spray ports at the tip of the nozzle - which are dedicated for posterior, feminine and turbo (enema) wash functions.  Water pressure, water temperature and spray position can all be adjusted.  The Bio Bidet BB 2000 also includes a water pulse mode and the turbo (enema) wash feature noted above.  This model offers superior water volume measured at 0.7 liters per minute.  You'll also find the BB 2000 also carries a slightly stronger warranty.

Compelling reasons to choose the Bio Bidet BB 2000:

     - Washing performance is paramount.  The BB 2000 outputs 40% more water

     - The turbo (enema) wash feature is useful to you, or nice to have as an option in the future

     - You like the stronger warranty

Design

Here are some differences in design specs.  These are bidetsPLUS' measurements of the physical unit; may differ slightly from stated measurements in the owner's manual, perhaps due to conversion from metric units to imperial.

Brondell Swash 1400 Bio Bidet BB 2000
Height - Rear (tallest point) 5.5" 5.6"
Height - Front (shortest point) 1.2" 1.4"
Length - Elongated Size 19.8" 20.9"
Length - Round Size 18.4" N/A
Width (widest point) 14.6" 15.4"
Weight 13.2 lbs 10.6 lbs
Water Hose Extends from (facing the unit) Left Left
Electric Cord Extends from (facing the unit) Left Right
Electric Cord Length 42.0" 42.0"

Key takeways:  both the Brondell Swash 1400 and Bio Bidet BB 2000 are roughly the same height.  The BB 2000 is a touch longer though, which will make it a better fit for those with slightly longer toilets (since not all elongated toilets are the same, some toilets are longer than others).  The BB 2000 is also slightly wider - which may make it more comfortable for larger persons, although the trade-off is the seat my be a tad wider than your toilet (purely a cosmetic issue).

The biggest difference to note though, is the position of the electric cord.  When facing the unit, the electric cord for the Brondell Swash 1400 will extend from the LEFT side while the electric cord for the Bio Bidet BB 2000 will extend from the RIGHT.

Wash Features

As mentioned above, both the Brondell Swash 1400 and Bio Bidet BB 2000 have adjustable water temperature, adjustable water pressure, and adjustable spray position.  They both have stainless steel wash nozzles.  The Swash 1400, however - adds adjustable spray width which lets you choose from a wider, softer spray or a more narrow, concentrated spray.  The Swash 1400 also has the user preset feature, where you can store different wash settings (e.g., water temp, water pressure) for up to two different people in your household.

The BB 2000 features the water pulse cleanse and turbo (enema) wash features, which the Swash 1400 does not have.  But perhaps most importantly - the Bio Bidet BB 2000 outputs more water than the Swash 1400 (0.7 liters per minute vs 0.5 liters per minute).  This results in the middle water pressure setting on the BB 2000, being roughly the same as the highest pressure setting on the Swash 1400.  You'll have more water volume at your disposal with the Bio Bidet BB 2000 which translates to a more efficient wash.

Other Features

Outside of the wash features, both the Brondell Swash 1400 and Bio Bidet BB 2000 share a similar feature set.  These include a warm air dryer, heated toilet seat, and automatic air deodorizer.  Both models have a night light too, although the Swash 1400's night light nicely illuminates the entire toilet bowl while the BB 2000's night light shines more towards the side of the toilet.

The only meaningful difference to note, is that you can sit on the closed lid of the Brondell Swash 1400.  The lid of the Bio Bidet BB 2000 is not designed to be weight-bearing, so it acts more like a cover.  So if sitting on a closed toilet would be more convenient for you, perhaps due to the smallish size of your bathroom for example, the Brondell Swash 1400 deserves some more consideration.

Warranty

Both seats come with a three year warranty.  Here's the Brondell Swash 1400 warranty:

     - 100% Coverage of all parts and labor for the entire bidet for the first year from original date of purchase-
     - 75% Coverage of all parts and labor for the entire bidet for the second year from original date of purchase
     - 50% Coverage of all parts and labor for the entire bidet for the third year from original date of purchase
     - Extended Warranty Option (add $99):  100% Coverage of all parts and labor for the entire bidet for FIVE years

And here's the Bio Bidet BB 2000 warranty:

     - 100% Coverage of all parts and labor for the entire bidet for the first year from original date of purchase-
     - 100% Coverage of all parts and labor for the entire bidet for the second year from original date of purchase
     - 100% Coverage of all parts and labor for the entire bidet for the third year from original date of purchase
     - Extended Warranty Option (add $99):  100% Coverage of all parts and labor for the entire bidet for SIX years

Although the warranty length is the same, you can see that Bio Bidet offers stronger protection in the outer years, in years 2 and 3.  Also - you get SIX full years of coverage with the Bio Bidet extended warranty plan, vs the FIVE full years you get with Brondell.  Both Brondell and Bio Bidet have U.S. based customer support teams.  We've received an excellent level of service from both Brondell and Bio Bidet's support team over the years.
